Terrarium

Oh, I am so ready for spring!! I started this new illustration series called "terrarium" and I am getting some inspiration from an old botanical book that I used to read and draw from when I was in school. :) I will be back tomorrow with the new March desktop calendar. xo

Sketchbook #13

Here is a sketch that I started a while ago, very spring-ish inspired. :) I am planning on illustrating in on a big sheet of watercolor paper and it will have lots and lots of flowers/ details. Not sure when I will actually start the final illustration but hope soon. Wish me luck!

Lately

It's been so cold and cloudy these past weeks and I am more and more ready for spring, sunshine and green trees. I wanted to make this post series a little different than taking pictures so I thought of making little videos and putting them together in 1 minute movie. It didn't turned out exactly the way I wanted but it was fun trying. :)
The song in the background is called "Anything boy" by Skypiper, an indie/folk/rock band of a few friends of mine, based in Omaha, NE.  I love their music. Go check them out! :)
Note: We made the video using a Nikon D90 camera and a 50mm lens.

A polar bear lost in a snowy city

A new mask that I worked on over the weekend ~ the polar bear. :) You can see his other 2 friends here. There are a few more on my to do list: bird, fox, wolf, brown bear, rabbit and a lion. Do you have any other suggestions?

Many people are telling me that through the pictures that I share on the blog, life and motherhood seems so easy and perfect. I respect everybody's opinions and thoughts, don't get me wrong, but life is not easy nor perfect. I choose to concentrate on the good things in what I share and I want to have this little corner of the internet a positive place. Also, the things that I share are just a tiny little bit of life. I appreciate all the beautiful things in life, the blessings, people, details, hugs, smiles, kisses, the little things that can brighten up the day of a sometimes tired, uninspired or overwhelmed mom such as myself and maybe others too.
